Cattle

How does BovIQ make calves more valuable? It’s in the cards. BovIQ cattle cards certify your beef. The most desirable calves on the market are preconditioned with specific criteria for things like vaccines, weaning, and castration. But you have to prove it. BovIQ keeps track of individual records with easy, accurate cattle cards that tell the valuable story of how you raise your cattle. Whether your operation is farm-to-table or cow-calf, your customers will buy with confidence because BovIQ provides the evidence.

Since BovIQ automatically tracks everything from source to weaning and beyond, calves are as much as $100+ more valuable per head. And the BovIQ report suite, delivers detailed certificates about optional vaccinations, animal welfare standards, and other value-added programs.
Land

How does BovIQ make land more productive? It’s in the cards. BovIQ land cards ensure optimal grazing performance. For example, BovIQ has land cards that guide you step by step to know how many pounds of dry matter forage you have in a grazing area. Plus you can save transect information to easily manage a sophisticated grazing plan. Or if you have forage and land but no cattle, you can post a BovIQ message to local grazers. For the first time ever cattlemen and landowners alike can find, buy, or sell quality forage in a quantified way.

By integrating cattle and land BovIQ reduces your worst expense, hay, and optimizes your greatest asset, forage. In fact BovIQ managed pastures are more productive to the tune of $200/head because it matches livestock demand with forage supply. So, whether you are managing paddock annuals or rangeland forage BovIQ ensures they remain sustainable and healthy.
History

BovIQ began with a rancher in New Mexico and a mobile app developer in North Carolina. Christian (the rancher) had been using complex excel worksheets for his cow-calf operation, but hated all the “office work” it required. Like most cattlemen he would rather be out moving than sitting at a desktop computer. So, he went mobile with a value-added production system that works from the Rocky Mountains of NM to the Piedmont of NC. Steven (the software engineer) adapted the idea to the simple power and ease of mobile cloud computing. Now, any good cattlemen with a smartphone can use BovIQ to integrate best practices from industry pros as well as academic Aggies.
